On July 14, our CEO, Bernhard Günther, took the stage at OIS Retina, held alongside the ASRS Annual Meeting in Montréal.

In front of an audience of investors, retina specialists and industry leaders from around the world, Bernhard presented our vision for automating the highest-volume procedure in eye care: intravitreal injections (IVI).

Millions of IVIs are performed every year to treat conditions such as wet AMD, DME and RVO – and that number continues to rise as populations age. Today, this demand is met almost entirely by hand, procedure by procedure, placing growing pressure on retina clinics and the specialists who run them.

At Ophthorobotics, an ETH Zurich spin-off, we are building the world's first fully autonomous, robot-assisted intravitreal injection platform – turning a capacity-constrained surgical task into a safe, standardized and scalable in-office procedure.
